Lotte Innovate Operates 40MW Ansan Data Center, Pursues Growth in Vietnam
Lotte Innovate begins managing a 40MW data center in Ansan and targets expansion in Vietnam through local partnerships and hyperscale data centre projects.
Lotte Innovate has commenced operations for the 40MW Ansan Global Cloud Center in Gyeonggi Province as part of a five-year contract and is expanding its data centre business into Vietnam through a strategic partnership with a local IT firm.
Operations Partnership for Ansan Global Cloud Center
The Ansan Global Cloud Center (GCC) is scheduled for completion in 2027 with approximately 40MW capacity. Lotte Innovate signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with ITCEN CTS to jointly manage operations and support infrastructure services. The contract, held with IGIS Asset Management, involves overseeing the full operational spectrum of the data centre.
ITCEN CTS will provide specialised personnel and IT infrastructure support covering servers, storage, and networking to ensure a stable operating framework. The partnership intends to extend cooperation beyond the Ansan GCC into hyperscale and edge data centre market segments, focusing on combining construction and operational expertise to enhance competitiveness.
Vietnam Market Entry and Domestic Expansion
Lotte Innovate is entering the Vietnamese data centre market through an MOU with local firm CMC Group, aiming to identify business opportunities in hyperscale data centres by leveraging Lotte Innovate’s design, build, and operate (DBO) experience alongside CMC’s local presence.
Domestically, Lotte Innovate has expanded rapidly over the past year. Key contracts include the outsourced operations of the Camsquare data centre secured in December 2025 and an edge data centre DBO project awarded by IGIS Asset Management in February 2026, followed by the Ansan GCC contract signed in October 2026. These projects extend the company’s capabilities across the full data centre lifecycle from design through to operations.
An official from Lotte Innovate stated that data centres are critical infrastructure supporting AI and cloud service growth. The company intends to build on its operational expertise in South Korea and strengthen global partnerships to develop data centre business as a mid- to long-term growth area.
Further developments to watch include the Ansan GCC construction progress through to 2027 and the expansion of the partnership framework in Vietnam’s growing data centre market.
