Naver Cloud and FPT Expand AI Infrastructure Partnership Across Asia-Pacific
South Korea’s Naver Cloud and Vietnam’s FPT extend collaboration to develop AI factories and GPU-as-a-service platforms spanning the Asia-Pacific region.
South Korea’s Naver Cloud and Vietnam’s FPT Corporation have agreed to expand their partnership to develop artificial intelligence infrastructure and services across Asia-Pacific, aiming to support companies with GPU computing resources for AI training and inference.
Quick Skim
Collaboration on AI Factories and GPU Services
The companies signed a memorandum of understanding at Naver Cloud’s headquarters in Seongnam, covering joint planning, development, and operation of AI factory projects as well as GPU-as-a-service infrastructure.
FPT, an Nvidia Cloud Partner and major IT company in Vietnam, brings expertise in GPU infrastructure and local market access. Naver Cloud contributes its AI and cloud technology capabilities. Together, they intend to use their customer networks in South Korea, Japan, Vietnam, and surrounding markets to generate business opportunities.
Supporting AI Adoption Without Infrastructure Investment
GPU-as-a-service enables enterprises to access necessary graphics processing power without purchasing costly hardware, addressing a key barrier to AI deployment. Under the agreement, the partners will provide computing infrastructure, AI models, and associated services to companies and AI service providers that require GPU resources for large-scale AI model training and inference.
The partnership also involves jointly applying AI technologies in customers’ operational environments. Engineering teams at Naver Cloud’s Vietnam development centre and headquarters will collaborate closely with FPT engineers to share knowledge and deliver projects on site. Areas of focus include optimising GPU infrastructure efficiency, enhancing AI inference performance, and integrating AI agents into commercial services.
Implications for Industrial AI Operations in Asia-Pacific
This collaboration is expected to facilitate faster adoption of AI technologies by reducing capital expenditure and operational complexity for companies in the region. By pooling technological and market expertise, the partners aim to improve scalability and reliability of AI infrastructure, which is critical for production environments and supply chain optimisation. Enhanced AI inference capabilities could also support advances in automation and predictive maintenance for manufacturing and maritime operations.
Naver Cloud CEO Kim Yu-won indicated the partnership seeks to meet diverse AI needs beyond South Korea and Vietnam, aiming for tangible business outcomes in the wider Asia-Pacific market.
Going forward, the collaboration will be monitored for its impact on expanding AI infrastructure accessibility and accelerating enterprise AI integration across various industrial sectors in Asia-Pacific.
