Pandora Opens US$150 Million Vietnam Plant To Boost Production And Resilience
Pandora launched its first manufacturing facility outside Thailand in Vietnam to enhance production capacity amid shifting regional growth dynamics.
Pandora inaugurated a new manufacturing facility in Vietnam near Ho Chi Minh City on 1 October, marking its first production site outside Thailand to increase output and supply chain resilience. The new plant complements the company’s existing operations in Thailand and regional headquarters in Singapore amid a strategic focus on the Asia market.
Vietnam Facility Selected for Stability and Skilled Workforce
After evaluating 27 locations, Pandora identified Vietnam for its stable business environment, robust infrastructure, and established tradition in jewellery craftsmanship, according to CEO Berta de Pablos-Barbier.
The US$150 million investment reflects the company’s confidence in Vietnam’s capacity to support its manufacturing needs with a deep pool of skilled artisans.
Shift Towards Asia Amid Market Challenges
Pandora is increasing emphasis on Asia as growth slows in North America and Europe and as conditions remain weak in China. The company also faces challenges such as rising precious-metal prices, currency fluctuations, and US tariffs impacting profitability in more mature markets.
The expansion aims to strengthen production capabilities in Asia, potentially improving supply chain flexibility and responsiveness for the region’s increasing share of Pandora’s sales, particularly with Japan as a key market.
Going forward, Pandora’s focus on its Asian manufacturing network and regional headquarters in Singapore will be central to its strategy as it adapts to global market shifts and pursues growth opportunities in Asia-Pacific.
