Saigon Port Advances Digital Transformation Aligned with Resolution 57 Goals
Saigon Port is enhancing operational efficiency through digitalisation, supporting Vietnam’s maritime sector modernisation under Resolution 57.
Saigon Port Joint Stock Company is accelerating the adoption of digital technologies in its operations and management to improve efficiency and service quality, in accordance with Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo and the objectives set by the Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC).
Digitalisation to Streamline Port Operations and Governance
Saigon Port is standardising procedures and enhancing data connectivity to optimise container handling and logistics services in southern Vietnam. The company is deploying enterprise management software for equipment, maintenance, procurement, and resource oversight, facilitating cost control and production planning.
The General Cargo Operations Management System (GTOS) was implemented across all affiliated units, completing digitalisation of port operations at Saigon Port and enabling real-time monitoring of operational status and business metrics via a dashboard. VIMC’s Big Data project, now transitioning to phase 2, aims to leverage operational data for management improvements.
Upgrading Infrastructure and Human Resources
Alongside IT infrastructure migration to Cloud platforms for scalability and central management, Saigon Port has introduced Humax HR software for workforce management, supported by staff training and functionality upgrades. The company is also researching artificial intelligence applications for data integration and business process automation, ensuring alignment with security requirements.
According to the company, these initiatives align with the spirit of Resolution 57, which identifies digital transformation as crucial for national development and maritime sector progress. The focus on data governance, operational coordination, and innovation supports VIMC’s goals for sustainable growth and enhanced resource integration.
In the final months of 2026, Saigon Port prioritised data interoperability, quality assurance, and reduction of duplicate entry, alongside staff digital skills development. The outcomes will inform the 2027 digital transformation strategy, moving towards the gradual establishment of a smart port.
Saigon Port’s efforts represent incremental steps towards modernising Vietnam’s maritime logistics infrastructure as part of broader national targets for 2030 and 2045.
