Đà Nẵng has begun construction of the 167-hectare Tam Anh Industrial Zone 1, a VNĐ1.5 trillion (US$60 million) project aimed at creating new capacity for manufacturing, high-tech industries and supporting industries in central Việt Nam.
Quick Skim
Developed by Chu Lai Float Glass Joint Stock Company, the industrial zone is located within the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone and is scheduled for development from the third quarter of 2026 through the fourth quarter of 2028.
New Industrial Capacity for Central Việt Nam
Tam Anh Industrial Zone 1 is expected to attract investment across processing and manufacturing, supporting industries and high-tech sectors.
The project forms part of a broader expansion of industrial infrastructure in southern Đà Nẵng, where authorities are seeking to create new production capacity and attract higher-value investment.
Its 70-year operating term will provide a long-term base for companies looking to establish manufacturing operations within the Chu Lai industrial ecosystem.
Connected to Airport, Seaports and Automotive Manufacturing
One of the project’s main advantages is its proximity to existing transport and industrial infrastructure.
Tam Anh Industrial Zone 1 will be connected to Chu Lai International Airport, Chu Lai Port, Kỳ Hà Port and the Chu Lai-Trường Hải automotive manufacturing complex.
These links provide manufacturers with access to aviation, maritime and road logistics while connecting the zone with one of central Việt Nam’s established automotive and industrial clusters.
The location is expected to support both domestic distribution and export-oriented manufacturing.
Wider Industrial Development Accelerates
Tam Anh Industrial Zone 1 is being developed alongside several other industrial infrastructure projects in the area.
Đà Nẵng has also begun work on three projects at Nam Thăng Bình Industrial Park, including ready-built factories, technical infrastructure for high-tech industries and a wastewater treatment facility, with combined investment exceeding VNĐ1 trillion.
Nearby, the 435-hectare Tam Anh-An An Hòa Industrial Park is also under development within the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone. The project is targeting green and higher-value industries including electronics, mechanical engineering and automotive manufacturing.
Chu Lai Infrastructure Supports Manufacturing Growth
The industrial-zone development is part of a wider effort to strengthen the Chu Lai area as a manufacturing and logistics hub.
Đà Nẵng has also proposed investing around US$10 billion to upgrade Chu Lai International Airport through 2050, responding to expected growth in logistics, tourism and investment.
Greater airport capacity, combined with seaport access and expanding industrial zones, could improve connectivity for manufacturers operating across central Việt Nam.
Industrial Infrastructure Becomes Investment Driver
The start of Tam Anh Industrial Zone 1 adds another major project to central Việt Nam’s expanding industrial network.
By combining new manufacturing land with access to airports, seaports and established industrial clusters, the development is designed to strengthen the region’s ability to attract high-tech manufacturing, supporting industries and foreign investment.
As new industrial parks and transport infrastructure come online, the Chu Lai economic area is positioning itself as a larger manufacturing and logistics base within Việt Nam’s industrial corridor.
