Kelington Secures RM172 Million Contract for Data Storage Facility in Kuching
Kelington Group, via its subsidiary, won a RM172 million contract for engineering and infrastructure works at a data storage facility in Kuching, expanding its project scope.
Kelington Group Bhd, through its wholly owned subsidiary Kelington Technologies Sdn Bhd (KTSB), has secured a RM172 million contract from a manufacturing company in Sama Jaya Free Industrial Zone, Kuching, Sarawak, for engineering and early-stage infrastructure development at an advanced data storage manufacturing facility.
Contract Includes Site Development and High-Voltage Infrastructure
The contract covers site development, foundation systems, and critical high-voltage power infrastructure. These works are part of a wider expansion project involving the design and construction of the advanced data storage manufacturing facility in Kuching. The project is scheduled to commence immediately and is expected to complete by August 2027, according to Kelington’s CEO Lim Seng Chuan.
This latest contract adds to a prior award and various purchase orders from the same client to KTSB, primarily related to design and build services for manufacturing and supporting infrastructure, valued at approximately RM111 million. Collectively, the contracts and purchase orders amount to about RM283 million.
Growing Involvement Highlights Engineering Capabilities
Lim noted the expanding scope demonstrates client confidence in Kelington’s engineering and execution capabilities. The group anticipates securing further contracts from the customer in the coming weeks relating to the Kuching project, with any significant updates to be disclosed as necessary.
Kelington emphasised that ongoing investment in advanced semiconductor manufacturing in Malaysia is creating further opportunities for the company to leverage its expertise and track record. The recent contract wins are expected to contribute positively to the group’s earnings and support revenue visibility through project completion.
For the six-month period ending 30 June 2026, Kelington secured RM1.23 billion in new contracts. With subsequent awards of RM2.37 billion and the current RM172 million contract, total year-to-date contract wins stand at RM3.77 billion, maintaining strong earnings visibility in the near term.
