Quick Skim
Long An International Port Operates Integrated Cargo and Logistics Services
Located in Tan Tap Commune, Tay Ninh Province, along the Soai Rap River approximately 20 km from the East Sea, Long An International Port encompasses 147 hectares and operates seven berths with a combined quay length of 1,670 metres. The port accommodates vessels up to 70,000 DWT and handles a variety of cargo types including containers, general cargo, bulk goods, industrial machinery, equipment, and project cargo.
The port is supported by cargo-handling equipment such as ship-to-shore (STS) and rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes, alongside yards, warehouses, and logistics services integrated with the Southeast Asia Industrial Park and industrial facilities, forming a manufacturing-logistics-seaport value chain under Dongtam Group’s development strategy.
Role in Regional Industrial and Trade Growth
Tay Ninh Province hosts 51 industrial parks and 60 industrial clusters, enhancing its function as a hub linking Southeastern Vietnam, the Mekong Delta, the Cambodian border region, and maritime trade routes. Long An International Port plays a critical role in facilitating cargo flows and enhancing connectivity between Tay Ninh, major economic centres in Southern Vietnam, and ASEAN markets.
According to Mr Vo Quoc Huy, Chairman of Long An International Port, the port’s ecosystem integrates manufacturing, industrial parks, logistics, and seaport services to improve supply chain efficiency and reduce intermediate processes.
Addressing Supply Chain Challenges and Advancing Regional Cooperation
With maritime transport responsible for more than 80% of global merchandise trade, disruptions such as geopolitical tensions and rising costs have increased the need for resilient and efficient logistics infrastructure. ASEAN’s sustained manufacturing and export growth necessitate enhanced port connectivity, technology adoption, digital transformation, and green development to maintain competitiveness.
ASEAN Ports & Logistics 2027 will convene regional stakeholders to discuss infrastructure development, digitalisation, green growth, and cooperation opportunities. Hosting the event grants Long An International Port a platform to showcase its integrated capabilities and to foster partnerships across the ASEAN maritime and logistics sectors.
Looking ahead, the port aims to further develop its infrastructure and services, supporting the evolving demands of supply chains and contributing to Vietnam’s strategic position within the regional and global maritime network.
