Taiwan’s ALP to Build B10 Billion Smart Warehouse in Thailand
Taiwan’s Ally Logistic Property is investing B10 billion to construct its largest smart warehouse in Thailand, aiming to enhance logistics efficiency and automation.
Taiwan-based smart warehouse and logistics provider Ally Logistic Property (ALP) is investing B10 billion to build the “Omega 1 Bangna” smart warehouse in Thailand, marking its largest facility in Asia and supporting enhanced logistics automation.
Facility Designed for Automation and High Efficiency
The Omega 1 Bangna spans over 62,000 square metres and incorporates high-density automated storage and retrieval systems, featuring more than 61,000 pallet positions. ALP’s integrated facility aims to improve delivery speed with operations maintaining a 42-hour turnaround within the logistics corridor.
The warehouse supports automation without requiring investment in robotics or infrastructure from tenants, who operate under a service-as-a-structure leasing model. This results in reduced upfront costs for storage racks and automated systems, according to ALP.
Operational Benefits and Future Deployment
ALP’s executive team highlighted that the smart warehouse can deliver up to 53% greater operational efficiency compared to conventional warehouses. Automated systems also reduce labour requirements by more than half, lowering picking errors and associated costs.
The design allows for flexible tenant operations, including ownership changes within the automated system, which facilitates supply chain adjustments without disrupting facility use.
ALP’s platform integrates single-data automation, robotics, and warehouse management software to analyse inventory and forecast volume, utilising artificial intelligence to optimise operations.
The company plans to begin first-phase operations on 1 October. The facility forms part of ALP’s broader expansion, with over 20 smart warehouses across Asia, covering more than 3.1 million sq m under management as of mid-2022.
This development is expected to support supply chain optimisation and labour efficiency improvements in the Asia-Pacific logistics sector by providing a scalable, high-tech warehousing option.
Looking ahead, ALP intends to expand smart warehouse projects across Southeast Asia, leveraging investment funds exceeding US$8 billion in total assets under management, signalling sustained growth in automated logistics infrastructure in the region.
